Recently, a video of a Wuhan couple driving a JF-70EV all-electric taxi on a self-driving trip to Tibet has sparked heated discussions among netizens. On August 15th, a reporter from Jingshi Live contacted the couple, with Liu Xiang (the husband) sharing details of this journey filled with courage and warmth, as well as the reliable performance of the JF-70EV during the plateau trip.

Liu Xiang recalled that he suddenly had the idea of a self-driving trip to Tibet on July 1st. His wife initially thought it was a joke, but to her surprise, they packed their luggage quickly the next day and officially set off on July 3rd. "This JF-70EV all-electric taxi is the only car we have at home. When we reported the trip to the company, we also received a special reminder to guard against altitude sickness," Liu said. Finally, thanks to the vehicle's stable performance, they successfully reached Lhasa in only 19 days. They started their return journey on August 13th and have now arrived in Panzhihua, Sichuan Province. They are expected to return to Wuhan on August 20th.

For this plateau trip with a round trip of approximately 7,400 kilometers, the couple chose a "self-sufficient" travel style to make the journey more comfortable—they brought their own pots, pans, and other cooking utensils to prepare meals along the way. At night, they relied on the flexible interior space of the JF-70EV to fold down the seats into a temporary bed. "We used to be busy with our own things at home, but now she cooks while I help out. Even her nagging has become a joy, and our life feels more down-to-earth and warm," Liu Xiang said with a smile. He added that this journey not only allowed them to get close to nature but also brought them closer to each other.

Notably, on the plateau roads with complex terrain and gradually rising altitudes, the JF-70EV maintained stable range and adaptability throughout the trip. Even when facing the charging conditions in the plateau area, the vehicle could smoothly adapt to the charging facilities along the way, ensuring the progress of each leg of the journey. During the trip, this special "Tibet-bound vehicle" also became a "center of attention": local people often gathered around curiously to take photos and ask questions. When staff at the border inspection station saw the JF-70EV, they couldn't help but praise, "Wuhan's taxis are really impressive," which filled Liu Xiang with pride.

"We have always loved outdoor travel; we even rode motorcycles to Shandong Province before," Liu Xiang said. He noted that driving the JF-70EV to Tibet this time allowed them to enjoy the magnificent landscapes of the motherland and meet interesting people, making this experience particularly precious. "We will work harder after returning, but it’s really worthwhile to see more of the world when we are young."

The JF-70EV, which accompanied the couple in completing this plateau challenge, is an all-electric vehicle designed to meet practical needs, and its advantages were fully demonstrated in the long-distance self-driving scenario.
